MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides) are lipids present in oils such as coconut and palm oil. According to study, the health benefits range from increased energy to appetite control. The ketogenic diet's rise, as well as an influx of research on the benefits of coconut oil, have contributed to increased interest in MCT oil's benefits. MCTs are triglycerides composed of two or three fatty acids with an aliphatic tail of 6–12 carbon atoms, often known as medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs). MCTs have been examined for their ability to aid in the process of excess calorie burning, as well as to promote fat oxidation and reduced food intake. MCTs can be used as part of a therapeutic plan for people with microbiome abnormalities due to their antibacterial and antifungal properties.
